  If I were grading on food alone, this place would get 5 stars - hands down. I had a delightful entree of lamb chops, rice, and Greek salad. It was so good and healthy, I treated myself to 2 glasses of wine. I don't usually do dessert, but I took 1 baklava to go.
  
  Problem is, when you own a restaurant, it's more than just the food - you've got to be able to SELL it - and there was no one on staff that could do that. I was alone so I sat at the bar area, and I was immediately turned off because they had 1 TV that was tuned into CNN. That station just invites (bad) politics, and with the country split in half on Trump - you're already tuning out half your potential audience. Second turnoff was the music. It consisted of that triteful 'house' music that you can hear at any of those dopey clubs in Miami. This place is competing with the Bal Harbour shops - play some Classical Greek music, or something more soothing that is going to attract the older crowd with money.
  
  Alas, closing time. I've wanted to try this place for a few months now, but every time I pass by they are closed. I finished my meal around 8:30pm, and they already had the Closed sign out front. I attempted to engage some form of dialogue with the woman who prepared my dinner, asking what type of marketing they do - but I could see she had 1 or 2 quick responses and that was it. My waiter wasn't much for dialogue either, spending most of his time either in the back or closing up out front.
  
  This is the only Greek place in the area, so with a little love it should do well.. I'm just not sure management wants to put the time in to make it a place that keeps the front door revolving.

  I wish I had read the reviews about this place before I walked in. Unfortunately, I read them after I ordered food.  
  I order the surf and turf (lamb chops & shrimp with rice and salad).  The meal was quick but when I saw it, I was quickly disappointed.  
  The lamb chops were thinly sliced and burnt on the outside.   I ordered medium but they were more like medium well.  The 3 pieces of shrimp were yellow-ish.  I realized after eating it that it was partially breaded, which seemed odd since they had to grill the lamb chops. I couldn't tell if the shrimps were fried or grilled.  
  The only good part of the meal was the salad dressing. So if you just want a good salad with no meat, come here.

  AVOID AT ALL COSTS
  
  This place is disgusting. Terrible service and salad is oily and gross. Even after sending back and making a comment it still came back gross. Go to another restaurant on the block for fresher food better service and better ambiance. Tables are dirty and worn, and the waiters are awful at listening to customers. Food was so bad I didn't even eat it and would prefer even the Subway across the street!

  I love this place and have been excited to write this review.  The Greek Place has been a landmark in Surfside and I've been going there for at least 15 years.  Everything from their Greek Salad, cheese saganaki, gyro platter and Greek fries is perfect.
  
  I love the neighborhood vibe and the sense of family I get every time we eat here. I highly recommend it for lunch or a casual early dinner.
  
  Only downside is that they are closed on Sundays and normally close fairly early during the week. They are also available on most delivery services.

  Traditional gyro is amazing!!! They did not skimp on the meat. Very flavorful and filling.  Have had it 3 times in one week!!! Only downside is the price. $15 seems high for gyro and fries when you can order grilled platters for the same price.
  
  But that's not stopping me from ordering.... the gyro sandwich is one of the best I've had!
